Kitchen in West Orange, NJ with marble-look epoxy countertops

How it works

Instead of removing your counters, we resurface them. Laminate, old tile, worn solid surface and even plain plywood can serve as a base when they are solid and well supported. We clean, sand and repair the substrate, then apply a primer and base color. Next, we pour and work the clear and pigmented resin to create the design. Edges are shaped and finished by hand so the counter looks like a single solid slab. A final clear coat adds depth and protection.

Looks you can choose

  • White marble: soft gray or gold veining that pairs with cream and white cabinets.
  • Dark stone: black and charcoal with subtle movement for a dramatic kitchen.
  • Metallic: copper, gold or silver for home bars and accent islands.
  • Solid color: clean and modern for laundry rooms and workspaces.

A fit for older kitchens

Many kitchens in town sit inside homes with character: wood beams, arched doorways, leaded windows and built-in cabinets. Replacing counters in those spaces can be costly and disruptive, especially when cabinets are custom and fragile. An epoxy pour lets you keep the original cabinetry and change the look in a few days. We protect cabinets, floors and walls with careful masking and plastic sheeting before any resin comes out.

Durability and care

Epoxy counters are seamless and nonporous, so they resist stains from coffee, wine and oils. They are easy to wipe clean with mild soap and water. They are not as heat resistant as granite or quartz, so we always recommend trivets under hot pots and pans. Cutting boards should be used for knife work. Fine scratches can be buffed out, and a worn top can be lightly sanded and recoated rather than replaced.

Project timeline

Most kitchen countertop projects take three to four days. Day one is prep, repairs and masking. Day two is the design pour. Day three brings the clear coat and edge finishing. After that, the counter needs a day or two of light use and about a week to reach full hardness. We let you know when it is safe to use the sink, place appliances and set heavier items on the surface.

Beyond the kitchen

We also pour bathroom vanities, home bars, built-in desks, laundry folding counters, restaurant bar tops and retail display counters. Matching a counter to a metallic floor in a basement bar creates a coordinated, custom look that stands out.

What to expect from the estimate

During the visit, we check the condition of your existing counters, measure each run and talk about colors and edge profiles. We bring sample boards so you can see the finish in your own kitchen light. The written estimate includes prep, pour, finishing and cleanup, with no surprise add-ons. If your counters are not a good candidate for resurfacing, we will tell you so before you commit.

Sinks, backsplashes and fixtures

Undermount and drop-in sinks can usually stay in place, and we carefully mask faucets and fixtures. If you plan to replace a sink or cooktop, it is best to do it before the pour. Short backsplashes can be coated to match, giving the counter a continuous look that is simple to wipe down after cooking.

Edges and profiles

The edge is where a countertop pour shows its quality. We can create a square edge, a softened eased edge or a waterfall drip that rolls down the side of an island. Each edge is sanded and finished by hand so it feels smooth, resists chipping and blends seamlessly with the top surface of the counter.
